Materiality
Materiality (Material Issues)
The TAKARA & COMPANY Group has declared as its corporate philosophy that we will “fulfill our role as a public entity of society.”
Our business is to support our customers’ communication on a global scale in a variety of ways. We believe that, by assisting our customers through our disclosure support, translation, and other businesses, we will contribute to the enhancement of our customers’ corporate value, resulting in the advancement of communication, and that, ultimately, we will be able to contribute to the creation of a sustainable society in which people can live rich lives into the future.
Based on this belief, to co-create value and grow sustainably together with stakeholders through business, we have identified the materiality (material issues) on which the Group should focus its efforts.

Materiality Identification Process
To uncover a wide range of social issues that the Group should address, we used the ISO 26000, GRI Standard, SASB, global risks, and other sources to select prospective candidates for our materiality items. The Sustainability Working Committee then held a workshop to narrow down those issues that both the Group and society recognize as material.
At the same time, we tied these issues to the goals in the SDGs to which the Group should contribute and, upon discussion in the Board of Directors, formally identified the Group’s materiality items.
